SEND Support Sessions

Nurturing Every Child as an Individual

At The Learning Patch, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, understood and valued within their learning environment.

Our SEND support sessions are designed to provide calm, nurturing and highly personalised learning experiences for children aged 4-11 with additional needs, differences or barriers to learning.

Led by an experienced Assistant Headteacher and outstanding teacher with over a decade of experience, sessions are carefully tailored to each child’s individual strengths, interests and developmental needs.

We understand that children are not ‘one-size-fits-all’ and our approach reflects this philosophy in every aspect of the environment and teaching.

A Calm and Supportive Learning Environment

Children learn within thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor spaces that help reduce overwhelm and encourage emotional safety, confidence and engagement.

Our sessions incorporate:

  • Play-based and sensory learning
  • Outdoor exploration and movement
  • Hands-on practical activities
  • Visual and multi-sensory approaches
  • Child-led learning opportunities
  • Emotional regulation and confidence-building support

The environment is intentionally calm, nurturing and flexible, allowing children to learn at their own pace in a way that works for them.

Personalised Support

Sessions may support children with:

  • Autism
  • ADHD
  • Dyslexia
  • Anxiety or emotionally based school avoidance
  • Speech, language and communication needs
  • Sensory needs
  • Learning differences and additional educational needs

Support is always tailored sensitively and collaboratively to ensure children feel successful, regulated and empowered within their learning.

More Than Academic Support

At The Learning Patch, we understand that confidence, wellbeing and relationships are the foundation for meaningful progress.

Alongside academic development in reading, writing and maths, sessions focus on:

  • Building self-esteem
  • Encouraging communication and independence
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing
  • Developing positive relationships with learning

Through creativity, connection and nurturing support, children are encouraged to flourish both emotionally and academically.

Because every child deserves an environment where they can truly thrive 🌿
