Building Confident, Curious Mathematicians
At The Learning Patch, we believe maths should feel engaging, achievable and meaningful for every child.
Our maths sessions for children aged 4-11 are designed to develop confidence through small, carefully supported steps whilst also providing challenge and deeper thinking opportunities for children who are ready to extend their learning.
We move away from pressure, worksheets and fear around maths and instead create positive learning experiences where children feel safe to explore, question and problem solve.
A Hands-On Approach to Maths
Children learn best when maths is practical, visual and connected to real experiences. Our sessions incorporate:
- Practical resources and manipulatives
- Outdoor maths exploration
- Games and problem-solving activities
- Number fluency and reasoning
- Investigation and challenge tasks
- Play-based maths for younger learners
From counting and number recognition to multiplication, fractions and reasoning skills, sessions are carefully tailored to meet each child’s stage of development and learning style.
Small Steps, Big Confidence
We understand that every child learns maths differently.
Some children may need time, encouragement and smaller learning steps to build secure foundations, while others may thrive from additional stretch and challenge. Our personalised approach ensures children feel supported whilst continuing to make meaningful progress.
At The Learning Patch, maths is not about rushing through a curriculum – it’s about developing understanding, resilience and confidence.
Because confident learners take risks, make mistakes and grow from them.
